Healthcare technology transformation

Turning a modernization need into a practical implementation program

The challenge

The organization had a functioning technology platform, but growth exposed limitations in scalability, reliability, process consistency, and knowledge management.

Leadership needed a practical modernization strategy that addressed immediate operational needs while creating the foundation for better data, automation, and responsible AI adoption.

My role

I led the technology assessment, translated the findings into a prioritized transformation plan, and carried the work into implementation and deployment.

The engagement required both executive leadership and hands on technical delivery across infrastructure, application, and process changes.

What I delivered

I developed a phased transformation program that balanced immediate improvements with longer term platform modernization.

The initial work focused on strengthening the technology foundation, improving application capabilities, reducing manual effort, and creating more consistent operating processes.

The broader roadmap established a practical path for data integration, analytics, delivery automation, and future AI capabilities. Each stage included clear dependencies, success measures, risks, and decision points.

The result

The organization received a clear technology strategy and an executable implementation plan. Foundational infrastructure, application, and process changes were implemented, and the system was deployed.

The engagement moved the organization from a broad modernization objective to a working transformation program with a stronger foundation for continued growth.

Clinical AI platform development

Taking an early concept to a working pilot

The challenge

The company had an ambitious product concept for using AI to improve clinical documentation, but turning that concept into a dependable application required more than connecting a language model to a user interface.

The platform needed to understand information delivered over multiple interactions, preserve important context, apply corrections without losing valid information, and produce consistent structured output. It also needed a technical foundation appropriate for a regulated healthcare environment.

My role

I provided CTO level direction while remaining directly involved in architecture, implementation, testing, infrastructure, and deployment.

My role was to turn the product vision into a working system, identify why complex clinical scenarios were failing, and guide the platform toward pilot readiness.

What I delivered

I helped shape an architecture that combined AI driven interpretation with deterministic application logic. This allowed the platform to use AI where judgment was valuable while enforcing structure, consistency, and validation in code.

I worked through application behavior, session state, structured output, deployment environments, security requirements, and delivery practices. I also introduced a more disciplined testing approach based on representative clinical scenarios and regression analysis.

The work required repeated diagnosis and correction of failures involving incomplete information, later updates, conflicting instructions, and unintended changes to previously captured data.

The result

The platform progressed from an early concept to a working pilot that could process complex clinical input across multiple interactions and produce structured documentation.

Representative clinical scenarios were tested through the complete workflow, and the core behavior was validated for pilot use. The company also gained a stronger technical foundation for continued product development, security work, and future production readiness.

E2C Technology

Platform leadership and technical diligence through an acquisition

My contribution

I led engineering and platform architecture work that strengthened the technology foundation and produced documentation used during acquisition diligence.

The outcome

The platform and technical record supported the diligence process before E2C Technology was acquired by CBRE in 2022.

CPower and Constellation

Maintaining platform continuity through a corporate separation

My contribution

I helped carry the technology platform through the separation, defining technical boundaries, integrations, and continuity requirements.

The outcome

The platform remained intact through the transition and supported continued operations as CPower became an independent company.
